Dr Sagar Pandhare is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Plaksha. Prior to this, he held the position of senior research scientist at the National Disease Modeling Consortium, IIT Bombay. His research interests span statistical epidemiology, statistical and robust inference, high-dimensional statistics, state-space modeling, model selection, and model averaging.
He earned his PhD in Statistics from SP Pune University in 2021. At IIT Bombay, he has contributed to the epidemiological modeling and statistical analysis of diseases such as malaria, measles, and typhoid. Dr Pandhare has several international publications and ongoing research.
With over seven years of teaching experience, he has taught courses in theoretical and applied statistics, stochastic modeling, calculus, and algebra at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is a recipient of the Young Scientist Award from the Indian Society of Probability and Statistics, and the Best Paper Award by the Ministry of Statistics, Government of India.
Dr Pandhare is also a CSIR-NET (JRF) qualifier in mathematical sciences and has been a top-ranking student throughout his academic journey.
