Connecting Minds: Plaksha’s Global Academic Ties

Plaksha has inked partnerships with top institutions, globally, who share the university’s vision. Over the years, Plaksha has created global academic collaborations that are actively involved in curriculum design, delivery, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative research The distinguished list includes names such as UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, Purdue University, Cornell University, IIT Kanpur, and IISc.  

In 2023, new partnerships were forged, and old partnerships strengthened. A MoA was signed between Plaksha and Cornell University. The MoA was announced by Prof. Rudra Pratap, the Founding Vice Chancellor of Plaksha University, and Prof. Wendy Wolford, Vice Provost for International Affairs, and Robert A. and Ruth E. Polson Professor, Department of Global Development, Cornell University at the Mohali campus. Also present for the announcement was Ashish Gupta, Founder & Trustee, Plaksha University and Founder, Benori Knowledge Solutions.  

Cornell University is the only university in the US that is both an Ivy League and a Land Grant institution and the MoA will enable research collaborations and foster a truly global classroom environment through collaborative teaching.  

At the signing, Prof. Wendy Wolford said, “The vision behind this new university, Plaksha, is inspiring—the leadership team, faculty, staff, and students are all 100% committed to interdisciplinary. tech-focused research and teaching collaborations around grand challenges. Cornell has a lot to learn from Plaksha, and we are excited to be exploring collaborations at multiple levels. I am very grateful to Ashish Gutpa, one of Plaksha’s founders, for introducing me to the university—it was an immediate fit, not least because the vice-chancellor RP is a Cornell alum himself. RP well understands both universities and the enormous potential for collaboration.”


A hallmark event at Plaksha exemplifies its commitment to cutting-edge knowledge dissemination — the annual Conference on Artificial Intelligence - ConfAI.

The second edition of Plaksha's flagship Conference on Artificial Intelligence had a topical focus in the broad range of applied and theoretical areas within computational intelligence and machine learning. This invite-only 3-day academic conference brought together leading academicians, scientists, thought leaders, and practitioners working in AI and Data Science to find effective solutions to societal challenges. It included insightful talks, panel discussions, and demos on data science in practice. Exciting talks were given by Dr. Rohini Srivathsa (National Technology Officer, Microsoft India), Dr. Vivek Raghavan (Chief Architect of Aadhaar Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Dr. Rajeev Rastogi (VP Machine Learning, Amazon), Dr. Partha Talukdar (Google Research), and many other experts.
