Holistic Wellbeing and Student Support

At Plaksha, wellbeing is seen as a dynamic and ongoing journey – one that evolves with the needs and growth of our students. Our two-pronged approach for wellness counseling for students blends preventive skill-building with timely corrective support, equipping students with the tools to navigate academic pressures, regulate emotions and build resilience.

Our Wellbeing Support System

  1. A dedicated wellbeing team
The campus is supported by two full-time psychologists who are available to address students' concerns from academic stress and adjustment issues to emotional and interpersonal challenges.

  1. One-on-one counseling sessions
Individual sessions for counseling and emotional support for students and employees are conducted regularly to address their personal, academic and emotional concerns. On an average, six to seven sessions for wellness counseling for students were conducted daily in the last two months, reflecting the trust students place in the university’s mental health services.

 Preventive and Experiential Wellbeing Initiatives

  1. Procrastination: Skill building sessions
The aim of these student support programs was to understand one’s unique procrastination pattern and figuring out ways to deal with issues such as not feeling like doing a task, finding a task too hard, feeling overwhelmed, or dealing with distractions.

  1. Emotions and the mood meter
Through fun role plays students practiced recognizing and naming their emotions and also becoming aware of how their feelings influence their thoughts and actions.
Students explored and created a coping skills tool kit to regulate and manage emotions.  This included breathing exercises, self-reflection, reframing thoughts and movement.

  1. Coping skills scavenger hunt
As part of the Universal Human Values (UHV) session, a unique scavenger hunt was designed as a playful-yet-purposeful activity. Students completed a wide range of tasks that encouraged emotional expression, grounding in nature, expressing gratitude, asking faculty about their favorite coping strategy and self-care.

Mental Health Outreach

Extending the wellbeing mission beyond campus, a mental health support session was conducted exclusively with teachers from Government High School, Saneta. The session focused on understanding and regulating anxiety – both for personal wellbeing and in their roles as educators. Practical tools such as breathing exercises, cognitive reframing and emotional first-aid techniques were shared, equipping teachers to navigate their own stress and better support their students.

From on-campus wellness counseling for students and employees to experiential activities and community outreach, at Plaksha we are committed to normalizing mental health discussions as an integral part of health.
