“Our university is a sapling, and we are the gardeners,” says Subham Jalan, the Vice President of the newly constituted second Plaksha Student Council. In these words he encapsulates the essence of the Student Council’s mission. They reflect the council's shared responsibility to nurture growth, foster collaboration and create a thriving community for all students.

Plaksha Student Council represents the voice and aspirations of the student body, serving as a bridge between students and the administration. As the President I decided to stand for elections because I wanted to create a space where every student feels represented and heard. Being part of this council means being a voice for my peers and driving positive change.

This council isn’t just about representation – it is about building a legacy of leadership, inclusivity and innovation.

 Our Mission

The council's mission is simple yet profound: to listen, collaborate and lead initiatives that reflect the collective dreams and ambitions of the Plaksha community. As Christopher George, the Technical Secretary, put it, “This council is about making sure that every student’s voice matters. I have seen how small changes can lead to big impacts, and that is why I joined – to be part of those changes.”

The council aims to empower student initiatives, create extraordinary opportunities, and ensure that every decision aligns with the greater good of the university.

Goals and Vision for the Year Ahead

The council's key focus areas include:

  • Enhancing student engagement through events, workshops and collaborative initiatives.

  • Advocating for student rights and fostering open communication with university leadership.

  • Creating opportunities for personal and professional growth by expanding access to resources and mentorship.

  • Building a stronger, more connected Plaksha community by supporting clubs, societies and entrepreneurial ventures.

The Plaksha Student Council envisions a campus where every student feels heard, valued and   empowered to contribute to the university's growth story.

This year marks the beginning of a journey driven by passion, responsibility and the shared goal of making Plaksha an even more vibrant and dynamic space for all. As Preesha Kaur Katial, the Cultural Secretary, aptly says, “Being part of the council is about creating experiences that inspire and unite us as a community. I hope to make every student feel like they’re part of something bigger, something meaningful.”
