Stage 2: Virtual interaction

Once the deadline for submission is over, the admissions team goes through each application meticulously and shortlists applications for the next stage, which is the virtual interaction.

The process of shortlisting takes anywhere between 3 to 5 weeks and applicants are encouraged to write in with any queries they have. Frequent events are organised to expose the applicants and their families to different aspects of Plaksha — everything from academics and faculty to campus infrastructure and student life is covered here.

Only shortlisted applicants receive emails about the virtual interaction sessions. This is conducted online as follows:

1:1 conversation

The 1:1 conversation is an opportunity for us at Plaksha, to learn more about you, your interests and your experiences. It is also an opportunity for you to place your questions and clear any doubts. We try to keep these conversations open and ensure that the applicants also get to share their views, opinions and queries.

There will be a few conceptual questions about Mathematics and Physics (if opted for in high school) and later a question on innovation challenge. The question is based on routine issues faced by most people. It encourages applicants to find imaginative solutions. This is an individual exercise and does not require preparation. There is no right or wrong answer. Applicants are encouraged to come up with creative, out-of-the-box solutions.

Once Stage 2 is completed the admissions team puts together all the information and insights collected throughout the process to decide on each applicant. Each application and all the information provided is scrutinized by the team and the Admissions Committee before a decision is made.

In some cases, we also seek another round of interview with some applicants. After these rounds of careful assessment, a final decision is made and a candidate is selected for admission. The decision is then communicated to the applicant.

Hope this gave you an idea of the admission process at Plaksha. Wishing you all the best! Enjoy crafting your application.
