Innovation Lab and Grand Challenges Studio – III
Building on the foundational knowledge and exploratory skills from previous semesters, this course engages students with the complexities of grand challenges. Students brainstorm solutions to identified problems and evaluate their social and financial viability. The course emphasizes problem framing, perspective taking, negotiation, social and financial viability checks, and the application of learned concepts through active class discussion.
Course Overview
This course builds on previous Innovation Lab experiences by engaging students in framing and addressing grand challenges through interdisciplinary teamwork. Students identify community problems, develop solution concepts, assess their social and financial viability, and refine proposals through feedback, hands-on activities and structured discussions before presenting them to diverse audiences.
