Product Market Fit

Understanding the customer is the starting point, but product market fit is the breakthrough. This course demystifies what product market fit means and why it is essential for any venture, helping students define the right problem, identify the right customer, and design business models that deliver real value. Through case studies, founder sessions, and workshops, students learn to turn ideas into solutions customers care about, building the mindset and tools to move forward with clarity, confidence and traction.

Course Overview

Understanding consumers and building for the targeted segment is the key to scale and profitability. The course seeks to demystify the meaning and means of Product Market Fit (PMF) by building a bridge between consumer understanding and unit economics that gets the business to the point of scaling for growth. Students are enabled to build their business ideas on the strong foundation of PMF in the classes ahead and beyond.

The course is structured into four modules:

  1. Lean Startup Methodology – The efficient process to reach Product Market Fit.
  2. Consumer Understanding – Defining, segmenting, and validating the scale of the problem.
  3. PMF Milestones – The Go-to-Market motion for Customer Lifetime Value and Contribution Margin.
  4. Business Models – Creating value for the consumer and appropriating value for the stakeholders.
