Prof Nikhil George is a Visiting Faculty at Plaksha University. He works at the intersection of social science, human decision-making, and machine learning, with an applied perspective. His research has spanned the restructuring of occupational skills under technological change, and expert judgment under pressure — leveraging recent advances in unstructured data and learned representations to ask questions that weren't previously tractable.
Prof George’s work develops measurement frameworks using unstructured data and machine learning to uncover patterns that are otherwise difficult to observe such as how technological change reshapes occupational skills, how AI adoption shifts workforce needs and when expert decision-making breaks down.
Prof George’s research spans multiple levels. At the macro level, he studies how technological shocks propagate through labor markets and patterns of adaptation. At the behavioral level, he examines when expert judgment diverges from experience-based evidence. At the applied level, he designs frameworks that enable organizations to make more informed talent decisions using existing data.
He works across a range of contexts, including labor markets, firms, competitive sports, and financial services. His current research explores how differences in work styles shape complementarity with generative AI tools.
