Prof Chaitanya Lekshmi Indira is the Director of the Center for Equitable and Personalized Healthcare and an Associate Professor at Plaksha University. She has more than 16 years of experience in materials science. She completed her master’s degree and PhD at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and was a Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before joining Plaksha, she headed the Centers for Materials Science and Sensors and Nanoelectronics at CMR Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. She teaches, supervises research, and mentors students.
Prof Indira develops advanced functional nanostructured materials and composites for sensing, catalysis, healthcare, water quality monitoring, and sustainable energy. Her current research builds on electrochemical and optical sensing, catalysis, and structure–property relationships.
