Pankaj Pansari

Prof Pankaj Pansari is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Division at Plaksha University. His research interests include improving the reasoning abilities of LLMs and accelerating the inference and training of LLMs. He heads the Kestrel Lab at Plaksha.

Prof Pansari earned his PhD from the University of Oxford and his BTech from IIT Kharagpur. He has worked at Naver Labs Europe (Grenoble, France) and General Electric (Bengaluru, India).

His ML Systems course website: https://ai4103-mlsys.github.io/

Prof Pansari's research themes are machine learning systems and LLM reasoning. He is interested in methods for speeding up inference of AI models so that they are able to make good utilization of expensive hardware resources. He also focus on developing benchmarks to measure and characterize ability of AI models on tasks that go beyond math and programming and are more representative of the scenarios in which we want to use these models in the real-world.
