Prof Sandeep Manjanna is an Assistant Professor at Plaksha University. He previously held a James McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellowship at the GRASP Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania. He earned his MSc and PhD from McGill University, where his doctoral work developed algorithms for autonomous vehicles to sample, understand, and map challenging environments.
Prof Manjanna develops applied machine-learning methods for autonomous and multi-robot systems, with applications in environmental monitoring and robotics. His work studies how robots can coordinate, sample their surroundings, and build maps in challenging environments.
Areas of work:
- Robotic active sampling and adaptive environmental monitoring
- Multi-robot coordination and sensor networks
- Path planning for autonomous vehicles
- Reinforcement learning and machine learning
- CIPPRS John Barron Dissertation Award in Robotics, 2021, for the impact of Prof Manjanna’s PhD thesis in robotics in Canada.
