Sandilya Garimella

Prof Sandilya Garimella is a Visiting Associate Professor at Plaksha University and a Mechanical Engineer. Before joining Plaksha, he spent thirteen years as a Scientist and Principal Investigator at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He holds a PhD and MSME from Purdue University and a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. At Plaksha, he teaches Freshmore courses and contributes to the Innovation Lab and Grand Challenges program. He has also mentored researchers and students and volunteered as a K–12 mathematics educator.

Prof Garimella’s research develops chemical and bioanalytical platforms for ion mobility and mass spectrometry, drawing on computational physics and electrohydrodynamics. His work advances analytical instrumentation for characterizing novel materials and protein structures.
