About

Seema Bansal is a Guest Faculty at Plaksha. She is the Vice Chairperson of the Punjab Development Commission, a policy institution established by the Government of Punjab along the lines of NITI Aayog. Since assuming the role in November 2023, Seema has led the Commission's establishment and growth, working closely with the political leadership and bureaucracy to advance Punjab's development priorities, including fiscal management, economic growth, education, healthcare, and agriculture. Under her leadership, the Commission has grown into a 30-member organization with 15 external partnerships spanning nonprofits and think tanks.

Prior to joining the Commission, Seema spent more than 23 years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she led the firm's Social Impact practice in India and across Asia Pacific. She is widely recognized for pioneering the concept of social impact consulting within BCG and across India. During her tenure, Seema worked extensively with central and state governments, including NITI Aayog, the Ministries of Skill Development and Education, and the governments of Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha. She has also collaborated with foundations, development organizations, and multilateral institutions.

Profawing on her experience across consulting and government, Seema brings the speed, rigor, and execution-oriented mindset of the private sector to the large-scale and complex challenges of public governance.
