Biomedical Imaging and Analysis
This course explores imaging methods used in biomedicine and clinical diagnostics, covering fundamental principles and applications of microscopy, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and computed tomography (CT). Students are introduced to digital signal processing, data acquisition methods, image enhancement techniques, and advanced visualization approaches used to improve the quality and interpretation of biomedical images. The curriculum also examines computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) and clinical decision support systems that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms. In addition, the course explores the integration of imaging, genomic, and clinical data to support drug discovery and development, while providing a foundation in imaging informatics and its role in modern healthcare and biomedical research.
