Dr. Anupam is a systems researcher who works in applied AI for healthcare and sustainability. He works at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision and embedded systems. He did his postdoc at Microsoft Research India with the SCAI group. For his PhD, he went to IIT Delhi working towards mobility of visually impaired people at the Assistech Group while contributing to robust and efficient embodied perception through deep learning. He has also worked on pre-silicon test and silicon bringup at Qualcomm India.

He often works with domain experts from industries/startups to build innovative solutions for societal problems in healthcare and sustainability. Smart sensors, assistive devices, wearable health monitoring systems, etc. require robust and latency-sensitive sensing and actuation. Therefore, these applications require innovation across sensing techniques, perception algorithms and energy optimization techniques in software and hardware. Dr. Anupam works on this interplay of different technologies with various domains.

I am interested in applied research problems in Healthcare and Sustainability. I have a background at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning and embedded systems. Smart sensors, assistive devices, wearable health monitoring systems, etc. require robust and latency-sensitive sensing and perception in the complex constraints of energy, form factor and business costs. Therefore, these applications require innovation across sensing techniques, perception algorithms and energy optimization techniques in both software and hardware.

I co-lead two research groups at Plaksha University.

  1. Geospatial Computer Vision Group The research group works on remote sensing through satellites, drone images for applications in agriculture, urban planning, etc.
  2. Embedded Sensing and Perception Group The embedded devices group works on novel devices for sensing and perception in the context of agriculture (plant physiology/soil sensing) and health (medtech)
