Important Dates
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with any one of the following qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Science (Research) program at Plaksha:
- A four-year Bachelor's degree with Honours or Honours with Research, with at least 160 credits
- A four-year undergraduate degree in Engineering or Technology (BE, BTech or equivalent)
- A Master's degree in any discipline
- A minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying degree is required.
- Admission is based on performance in a national or university-level entrance examination, followed by an interview. Candidates with a valid GATE score or equivalent qualification may be given preference.
- Candidates must provide evidence of employment (or other commitments) that requires pursuing the degree through part-time study, along with an NOC from their current employer.

Plaksha's Research Staff
The program is open to Plaksha's own research staff on the same eligibility terms as external applicants.
Admissions Process
- Apply online: Submit the application form along with academic records, evidence of employment, the employer's No-Objection Certificate (NOC) and a statement of purpose. Applications without an NOC cannot be processed.
- Entrance qualification: Admission is based on performance in a national or university-level entrance examination. A valid GATE score is preferred. UGC-NET and CSIR-NET scores are also accepted. Candidates without a national score may take the Plaksha screening test.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by a panel, which assesses technical depth, research aptitude and the fit between the proposed research direction and an available supervisor.
- Selection and offer: Offers are conditional on verification of original documents and confirmation of a supervisor.
- Registration: Candidates accept the offer, pay the first installment and complete course registration, mapping forty credits across four semesters.

Fee waiver for Plaksha employees
Full-time employees of Plaksha receive a 90% waiver on the tuition component.
How to Apply
Applications for Monsoon 2026–27
Submit the Master of Science (Research) application form before the stated deadline. Applicants are advised to review the eligibility criteria and application requirements before filling the form.

- Degree certificates and consolidated transcripts showing credits and CGPA
- Entrance examination scorecard, if held
- Evidence of current employment
