The Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence major combines a computer science core with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and human intelligence components. Over eight semesters, students build competence from the foundations to advanced coursework. The first three semesters, called Freshmore, is common to all BTech students and covers core engineering, mathematics, and problem-solving skills before students specialize into their chosen major. From there, students move into advanced courses such as Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, Deep Learning, Search Methods in AI, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, and Reinforcement Learning Fundamentals.
The CSAI major includes core AI and ML courses such as Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, Deep Learning, Search Methods in AI, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning and Reinforcement Learning Fundamentals. Electives extend into applied AI areas including Machine Learning in Dynamic Environments, Cryptography and Blockchain, Human-Tech Interaction and Drones and Precision Agriculture.
The CSAI major prepares students to build AI-powered solutions for real-world problems. Graduates can develop applications such as facial and voice recognition systems, personalized learning platforms, healthcare tools for disease prediction and diagnosis, and generative AI applications for music, art, and content creation.
Yes. Our students have pursued research at institutions including the University of Pennsylvania, Georgia Institute of Technology, TU Delft, IIT Bombay, Carnegie Mellon University and New York University. They have also presented their work at international conferences, including the CHI conference in Japan and the Frontiers in Education Conference, Nashville.
This major prepares graduates for a wide range of careers, including machine learning engineer, software engineer, applied AI researcher, data scientist, AI product manager, and entrepreneur. Graduates are equipped to work across domains such as generative AI, intelligent systems, and AI-driven technology. The interdisciplinary curriculum also prepares students for graduate study and careers at the intersection of technology and business.
