Prashanth Prakash is a founding partner of Accel India and a pioneering venture capitalist who has played a crucial role in shaping India’s startup ecosystem. He began his venture capital journey in 2004, investing in Indian technology startups long before they gained global prominence.
He co-founded Erasmic Ventures in 2004, one of India’s earliest seed funds, which later merged with Accel. Over the years, he has backed and nurtured some of India’s most successful startups, including Agrostar, BlueStone, BookMyShow, Clevertap, FabHotels, Glowroad, HolidayMe, HomeLane, InfraMarket, PropTiger, QwikCilver (acquired by Pine Labs), Rentomojo, TeaBox and many others.
Beyond venture capital, Prashanth is deeply involved in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Karnataka and across India. As the co-founder of UnboxingBLR Foundation, he actively contributes to initiatives that support emerging businesses and technological advancements.
In recognition of his contributions to India’s trade and industry, he was honoured with the Padma Shri. His expertise in venture investing, strategic growth, and ecosystem development continues to drive impactful change in India’s startup landscape.
