About Raavi Aggarwal

Prof Raavi Aggarwal is an Assistant Professor at Plaksha University and an Environmental Economist by training. She is Co-lead of the Climate Policy for Development (CPfD) Programme, Environment for Development Initiative, hosted at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She is also Research Fellow at the World Inequality Lab, Paris School of Economics; Visiting Scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Germany; and Member, Centre for research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy and Environment (CECFEE), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Delhi.

She holds a PhD in Economic Sciences from the Technical University, Berlin, Germany, Masters' degrees from the Paris School of Economics and University College London, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Delhi. Her research focuses on the economic impacts of climate change, and the design of efficient and equitable policies for climate change mitigation. In particular, her research explores the potential effects of carbon pricing policies on household welfare and firm competitiveness in India and broader developing country settings.

Prof Aggarwal is currently involved in policy consultation on cost-benefit analysis of public sector investments with the NITI Aayog, Government of India. She is also engaged at the research-policy interface of the Government of India's energy efficiency programmes, with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power.
