Bio
Varna Puvvada is the Senior Director of Engineering at Meta, where she leads the fast-growing Ads Serving Infrastructure organization across multiple sites, including the Bay Area, New York and Toronto. Her work focuses on building and scaling Meta’s mission-critical ad infrastructure, which drives the company’s revenue. She collaborates closely with machine learning teams to advance AI infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge hardware and software innovations.
With over two decades of experience in large-scale distributed systems and ML platforms, Varna has played a key role in developing reliable, efficient and privacy-aware infrastructures. Prior to Meta, she was a Principal Member of Technical Staff at PayPal, where she led the development of the Core Server Framework and spearheaded major system migrations. She also held engineering leadership roles at Symantec, Invio Software, Healtheon WebMD, and Tandem/Compaq, contributing to automation, provisioning tools and large-scale infrastructure solutions.
